Tough kids

None of my kids have been blessed with much grace, it seems!!! Our poor kids, when they hurt themselves, they do it well! Kale hurt himself this weekend by getting his toe in to a crack in a plastic slide while going down it and cut both sides of his little toe - we're not sure if he's broken it or not - it's swollen and tender to the touch so it's a possibility!! He also must have gotten a bug bite right next to his eye because his eye began to swell shut and turned black and blue. The up side - it doesn't seem to be slowing him down any!!!!!!!! Gotta love this little boy.

Wednesday we head to Rochester bright and early to meet with Ana's neurologist!! She will do a sleep EEG to see the activity in her brain waves then find out if we can start taking her off her meds! When we met with Dr. Wirrel last September she said if she remained seizure free until June we would start weening her off the meds. YAY for Ana!!!!!! Such a tough little girl.

Blonde moment

I just had to post this picture of Kale - the title seemed so fitting since it's just one of the many funny/adorable things that Kale does and yet his ultra blonde hair allows the title to be so true!!! Kale and I helped drive 1st grade students over to West Bend to tour the Grotto and as soon as he saw these shells, he said to me "I gotta see if you can still hear the ocean". Funny kid.

3 yr old Preschool Come and Gone

Today was Kale's last day of 3 yr old Preschool - seems like he just started!!! Guess that just shows how quickly a year goes by!! My little boy is growing up!! Thank you so much to Mrs. Myers and Mrs. Bormann for your patience, kindness, and passion to teach - you have truly been an important part of his life.

New bikes!!

Last weekend, while we had the beautiful weather, Kale surprised me by saying "okay mommy, I'll try riding my bike." We gave Kale his bike last year for his birthday and up until this point has been quite content riding his gator or playing on his big wheel. So, in my shock, I said I would help him....now I can't get him off!!! Every minute we're outside he's on his bike! Well, this got the girls excited to go to Great Grandma Claire's house to pick up the bigger bikes that Grandma Kathy had gotten a couple years ago and had stored at Claire's house. Looks like these bikes will get LOTS of wear this summer!

Getting in touch with nature.

I am reminded on almost a daily basis how fortunate I am to be home with my children - being able to watch every moment of them growing, be active in their life's experiences, AND getting to be a part of school activities!!! This is the 3rd trip I have driven and chaperoned for and it's so much fun - Kale even got to enjoy the festivities. We went to the Ruthven Nature Center for the day and learned all kinds of great things. The wind was AWFUL the day we went, but we had fun! The picture of Mia is her as the Queen Bee - she was so embarassed!!! They learned about all of the jobs that each honey bee has and why they are important. They also got to take a hike through the woods to learn about animals and plants, what animal makes certain tracks that were found, types of trees, and even weeds (especially when it's poisen ivy!!). After our picnic for lunch, we walked to the marsh and got to use nets in the water to find shells, bugs, and types of plants. This was, by far, their favorite part. It was such a great day and I look forward to the next trip where we'll be taking the kids to the Grotto in West Bend!!

The picture where the blog title is, is of Kale with the Mother's Day present he made for me at preschool!!!! He was SO excited - so much so that he had to tell me all about it before he even DID IT!!!! Hopefully he's always that good at keeping secrets...hahaha.

Happy Mother's Day to all you Mom's out there! I hope you have a wonderful one and enjoy a few special moments with those that you love.
