The joys of owning a home!

What started out as a fun project - putting in new recessed lighting (which is done in our living room), replacing some windows, getting egress windows for the rest of the rooms downstairs, and siding (all of which we are getting bids on yet at this point) - has proven to be so much more than bargained for!

For about a year we had been dealing with a smell that would arrise every now and then we did laundry or took a shower in the bathroom in the master bedroom. It doesn't happen all the time, so we weren't quite sure what was causing it. We finally broke down, since we were doing all this other work, and figured now was the time to find out. Upon scoping the pipes out to our tank there were no issues, which means the problem lies in the pipes in our house! Not what we wanted to hear although glad we didn't have to tear up the yard for a new tank. Well, we still have to do some tearing, but it requires tearing out our master bathroom!!!!! The one we just remodeled less than 2 years ago! It just about makes us sick!!! We'll also have to tear up some cement as another drain is ruined as well. Who knows what else this will lead to once we get in there! Ugh...

We spent the first 6 years in this house fixing all the major things INSDIE that needed to be replaced in a 30+ year old house. We were really looking forward to doing cosmetic things!! So, for any of you who stay with us when you come home, you may have to stay elsewhere for a while. We aren't doing any work right now (as we have 1st Communion the beginning of May and spring planting is right around the corner), but our spare bedroom is full of all the stuff from our storeage area!!

Ah, the joys of owning a home!!!!!
